Details: According to Germán García Grova, Uruguay’s head coach, 70-year-old Argentine Marcelo Bielsa, has announced he will step down after the World Cup, regardless of the team's results.

Bielsa has no intention of extending his deal with Uruguay, meaning he’ll either return to club football or possibly announce his retirement from the game altogether.
“Our work will end with the World Cup. I thank Uruguay for allowing me to enjoy the World Cup,” Bielsa stated.
Marcelo Bielsa took charge of Uruguay in 2023. Under his leadership, the Sky Blues have played 33 matches, recording 16 wins, 10 draws, and 7 defeats.
At the World Cup, Uruguay has been drawn into Group H, where they will face Spain, Saudi Arabia, and Cape Verde.
