The legendary striker might once again don the Uruguay national team jersey.

Details: According to The Athletic, Luis Suárez has declared his readiness to join Uruguay at the upcoming World Cup. This bold statement comes more than 18 months after the forward announced his retirement from international football. At the time, Suárez insisted that it was the “right moment” to put an end to his 17-year journey with the national team.

However, the player’s relationship with the current head coach remains tense. Suárez has previously criticized Marcelo Bielsa’s management style, saying he felt “hurt” by the atmosphere created by the coach and warning that the players’ patience could run out. Now, with the World Cup approaching, the veteran seems willing to set aside differences for one final shot at the global stage.

It’s worth noting that the 39-year-old Inter Miami striker is the top scorer in his country’s history, netting 69 goals in 143 matches. He last featured for La Celeste in September 2024.

Reminder: Inter Miami winger Lionel Messi answered the question of whether he wants to see Neymar at the World Cup.
