“We’ll start soon.” Leo Messi is ready for the start of the 2025 Club World Cup

Inter Miami’s main star Lionel Messi is already primed for the upcoming tournament, the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. The football icon shared a post on his Instagram page to mark the occasion.
Messi posted a photo of himself strolling around the Inter Miami training base, mate gourd in hand. He captioned it, “📍 Miami. Two days and we get started... ⚽️,” making it clear that he’s eagerly anticipating the kick-off of the tournament.
It’s worth noting that Inter Miami will feature in the opening match of the tournament. The American side will take on Egypt’s Al Ahly on June 15. The clash will be held in Miami, at the Hard Rock Stadium.
Messi’s team has a solid chance of advancing from the group stage, as alongside Al Ahly, they’ll be facing Brazil’s Palmeiras and Portugal’s Porto in their group. However, should Inter Miami make it out of the group, they could face PSG or Atletico Madrid as early as the round of 16. A potential match-up with PSG, Leo’s former club, is especially intriguing.
The Club World Cup will culminate in the final showdown on July 13 in East Rutherford, New Jersey, at MetLife Stadium.
