Espanyol continues their fight for a spot in European competitions.
Details: Today it was announced that Espanyol’s 46-year-old head coach Manolo González has been named La Liga’s Coach of the Month for December 2025.
Under González’s guidance, Espanyol secured three wins from three matches in La Liga last December. First, Espanyol beat Rayo Vallecano at home, then on December 13, González’s squad narrowly defeated Getafe away, and on December 22, Espanyol triumphed over Athletic Bilbao on the road.

Currently, Espanyol sits fifth in La Liga and remains firmly in the hunt for European qualification.
Manolo González took charge of Espanyol in March 2024. Since then, he has managed 76 matches at the helm, recording 29 wins, 21 draws, and 26 defeats. His contract with the club runs until 2027.
