Bayern Munich have received reassuring news about Vincent Kompany, but the Belgian coach faces an extended absence.

Details: Bayern sporting director Max Eberl confirmed on Saturday, October 24, that Kompany's condition is stable. The 40-year-old coach collapsed on Friday while watching the reserve team train and was subsequently hospitalized. According to Eberl, the Belgian will remain in hospital for several more days while doctors conduct further examinations to establish exactly what happened.

Despite the positive update, Kompany is not expected to return to coaching duties immediately. Eberl stressed that Bayern are talking about weeks rather than days, although the club will not establish a specific recovery timetable.

The sporting director also refused to speculate about whether the incident was connected to the viral infection Kompany had been battling earlier in the week. Medical examinations are continuing, with the club prioritizing the coach's complete recovery.

Eberl emphasized that football is not the most important thing in life and that the entire club is supporting its head coach. Assistant Aaron Danks revealed that he had spoken with Kompany on Friday evening but deliberately avoided discussing football, assuring him that the coaching staff would take care of everything.

It's worth noting that Bayern Munich are scheduled to face Freiburg in the Bundesliga on Sunday, October 25. Kompany's coaching staff will oversee training sessions and matchday operations during his absence, with no confirmed date for his return.
