The head coach of Liverpool, Jürgen Klopp, offered his reflections on their encounter against Everton and assessed their prospects for the Premier League title.

Liverpool suffered a stunning defeat to Everton in the Merseyside derby with a scoreline of 0:2. The manager of the Reds expressed profound disappointment, acknowledging that events unfolded precisely as the Toffees desired.

"Two goals from set-pieces. Their prowess was evident. Despite our creative endeavors, we failed to convert. Impetuosity clouded our judgment, a sentiment not universally grasped. Their second goal mirrored their season-long approach. They earned a succession of set-pieces, yet our performance lacked the necessary excellence," remarked Jürgen Klopp.

The German tactician extended apologies to the supporters, acknowledging that their performance ought to have been of a higher standard, yet fell short, resulting in defeat. Additionally, Klopp assessed the contention for the title.

"We require Manchester City to falter, a historical rarity. Arsenal exhibited frailty yesterday evening, contrasting with our own shortcomings. Improvement in our performance is imperative. Points are paramount. Our Champions League qualification remains uncertain, particularly considering Tottenham's fewer games played," added the Liverpool mentor.

Liverpool, maintaining their tally of 74 points after 34 fixtures, find themselves trailing the leaders by three points, with a mere one-point gap ahead of the third-placed team.
