"We had a hellacious season," remarked the leader of the Dallas Mavericks about the past season
The Dallas Mavericks lost to the Boston Celtics in the fifth game of the NBA Finals and did not become champions, as they lost the series 1-4.
Despite this outcome, the leader of the Texas team, Luka Doncic, positively assessed the current season. He expressed pride in all the players, coaches, and the team as a whole.
"I feel great. We made some great moves. I would say we've only been together for 5 months. I'm proud of every guy who stepped on the court, all the coaches, all the people behind the scenes. Of course, we didn't win the finals, but we had a hellacious season. And I'm proud of everyone," said Doncic.
To recap, throughout the entire 2024 playoffs, the Celtics suffered only three losses: one in the finals against the Mavericks, one in the first round against Miami, and one in the second round against Cleveland. This is the second-best record in NBA history.
Mavericks' leader Luka Dončić became the club's all-time assist leader in NBA playoff games. In the fourth game of the series against Minnesota (100-105), he recorded 10 assists.
Previously, Dončić became the sixth-youngest player in NBA history to reach the 10,000-point milestone. He achieved this at the age of 24 years and 300 days, needing just 358 games to reach the mark.
