The French manager acknowledged that his team had failed to meet the demands of the tournament, which is being held in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Tunisia were knocked out of the 2026 World Cup with a poor record. The Eagles of Carthage suffered three defeats and conceded 12 goals in three Group F matches.

Following the 3–1 defeat to the Netherlands, Hervé Renard, who took charge of the Tunisian national team in the middle of the World Cup, made no secret of his disappointment. The French tactician admitted that the Eagles of Carthage had failed to raise their game.

“Playing this sort of match is wonderful, and you have to rise to the occasion. But we simply weren’t up to the standard required for this tournament. I tried to give my very best for Tunisia. It was an honour to take part in this World Cup.”
