Wayde Jooste: Former Highlands Park, Orlando Pirates and AmaZulu defender joins Betway Premiership side Stellenbosch FC
Wayde Jooste has joined Stellenbosch FC.
The former Highlands Park, Orlando Pirates and AmaZulu defender arrives in Cape Town as a free agent.
Jootse has been club-less since he was let go by AmaZulu in the off-season and he was part of South Africa’s CHAN squad which lost in the group stages in August.
In him, Stellenbosch FC have found an experienced campaigner and a player who can boost their quest to move away from the relegation quagmire as Stellies are third from bottom.
Now, 33, it goes without saying that the player is in his twilight stage of his career and that this may be his final professional contract and that is something which may motivate him to do more for the side.
Jooste is also one of the few players to have made over 100 appearances in the PSL.
It will be interesting how the team adjust to the new coach as long serving coach, Steve Barker, left the club today.
