Warren believes Fury can beat Usyk in a rematch
Promoter Frank Warren commented on the victory of WBO, WBA, and WBC champion Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) over former champion Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs). Fury's representative also shared expectations for the rematch between the boxers.
"Until Fury took a nose punch from Usyk, he was landing good shots. There's no doubt about that. But Tyson got hit in the nose and lost his focus. I thought he won. I thought he won the fight by a small margin. The point is, the decision can't be changed.
On December 21 in Riyadh, we will find out who will win the rematch. I feel that Fury knows how to beat Usyk," Warren said.
It was previously reported that Usyk vacated the IBF title. The Ukrainian boxer recorded a video message, announcing that this belt is important for AJ and Dubois, so he is giving it to them as a gift. On September 21, they will fight to determine the new IBF heavyweight champion.
Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk determined the first undisputed heavyweight champion since 1999 on May 18 in Riyadh. The Ukrainian won by a split decision - 112:115, 114:113, 113:114 - and became the holder of the WBC, WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO championship belts.
