The Swiss tactician may not be in charge of the Desert Foxes for the 2026 World Cup.

Rumours suggest that Vladimir Petković is set to step down as manager of the Algerian national team. Although he recently extended his contract with the Algerian Football Federation, the 62-year-old manager may not continue in his role at the helm of the coaching staff.

According to reports, relations between Petković and certain players in the Algerian national team are reportedly strained. The Swiss manager’s methods are said to be facing increasing criticism within the squad.

Vladimir Petković no longer appears to have the unanimous support of the squad. Barring any changes, he is expected to leave even if Algeria secures a place in the round of 32 at the World Cup, which is being held in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
