Details: The Real Madrid winger delivered a defiant message after the dramatic 4-3 Champions League victory over Roma on October 14. Looking back on the beginning of his Real Madrid career, Vinicius reminded his critics just how far he has already come. The winger arrived in Madrid at the age of 18 in 2018 and had to deal with plenty of doubts surrounding his finishing and whether he could establish himself at one of the biggest clubs in the world.
“Remember, I arrived at 18 years old and many people laughed at me… they said I can’t score, then I had more than 100 goals for Madrid. Vini always comes back, remember” Vinicius said.
His words come during a complicated period for the Brazilian, but Vinicius has already stressed publicly that he is working to regain his best level and expects his goalscoring form to return. Mourinho also remains an important figure in that process, with Vinicius saying after the Roma game that the pair have a very good relationship and speak openly with each other.
It is worth noting that Vinicius remains tied to Real Madrid until June 30, 2032. The Spanish giants officially announced his new long-term contract on August 6, 2026.
