Real Madrid fans deliver their verdict on Vinicius. Should the clone go?

The contrast between Vinicius and Diomande is becoming increasingly difficult for Real Madrid fans to ignore.

Details: Following Real Madrid's dramatic 4-3 Champions League victory over Roma, some Madrid supporters on social media have called on Jose Mourinho to leave Vinicius on the bench for a couple of matches and see how the team performs without him. The discussion intensified after another quiet evening from the Brazilian and a much more productive display from Yan Diomande.

Vinicius started the match at the Stadio Olimpico but was replaced by Endrick in the 59th minute. He left the pitch without a goal or an assist, with Real Madrid trailing 3-1 at the time. Mourinho's substitutions eventually helped change the course of the game, as the Spanish giants produced a remarkable late comeback to win 4-3.

Diomande also started against Roma and made a far greater attacking impact, finishing the match with an assist and repeatedly causing problems with his runs on the ball. One post-match player rating gave the Ivorian an 8/10, while Vinicius received 6/10 and was described as quiet for most of his time on the pitch.

The word clone has already become part of the social-media jokes surrounding Vinicius after bizarre online conspiracy theories claimed that the Real Madrid star had been replaced following the World Cup. There is no credible evidence behind those claims, but the meme has resurfaced while supporters debate his current form.

It is worth noting that Vinicius has already been suspended for four LaLiga matches following his red card against Villarreal. He is set to miss the games against Sevilla, Barcelona, Racing Santander and Valencia, although the domestic ban does not apply to the Champions League.
