Yesterday, the renowned English club Portsmouth defeated Barnsley at their home ground in the 44th round match of League One (the third division). Thanks to this victory, Portsmouth secured promotion.
In honor of this event, thousands of fans stormed onto the pitch immediately after the final whistle to celebrate.
Portsmouth will be competing in the Championship for the first time since the 2011/12 season, when they were relegated directly to League Two (the fourth division) due to financial issues. The club has spent the last 7 seasons in League One.
