Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher is unhappy with Mohamed Salah after the Egyptian player's comments about his unclear future at Anfield. Salah, whose contract ends next summer along with Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, is upset that he hasn't received a new contract offer yet.
Speaking to the media after Liverpool's 3-2 win over Southampton, Salah stated, "We're about to enter December, and I haven't received an offer to stay at Liverpool. It seems more likely I'll be leaving than staying."
Carragher criticized Salah's comments, calling them "selfish" and ill-timed. "Liverpool is facing critical fixtures, including Real Madrid midweek and Manchester City next weekend. This is what matters now—not contract renewals," Carragher told Sky Sports.
The former defender added, "Salah is one of Liverpool's all-time greats, but no player is bigger than the club. Liverpool will continue to thrive, with or without him."
Salah's future is still unclear, even though he's playing very well this season, scoring 12 goals and providing 10 assists in all competitions. Meanwhile, Liverpool is leading the Premier League, eight points ahead of Manchester City.
