(Video) Despite Mazembe’s Defeat: Senegalese Goalkeeper Aliou Badara Faty Scores in CAF Champions League

Aliou Badara Faty, the Senegalese goalkeeper for TP Mazembe, made headlines by scoring a penalty in his team’s CAF Champions League clash against Tanzania’s Young Africans on Saturday.

Mazembe took an early lead in the Group A match played in Tanzania as Faty comfortably converted the penalty in the 16th minute.

Previously instrumental in Senegal’s African Nations Championship (CHAN) victory, Faty joined Mazembe in the summer of 2023, showcasing his versatility as a shot-stopper and a goal-scorer.

Despite Faty’s heroics, Mazembe fell 3-1 to Young Africans, leaving the Congolese giants with just two points, while the Tanzanian side climbed to four points in the group standings.
