(Video) CAF Launches Probe Into Post-Match Violence Between ASC Jaraaf and USM Alger Fans
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has opened an investigation into allegations of fan violence following the CAF Confederation Cup matchday two encounter between Senegal's ASC Jaraaf and Algeria's USM Alger, which ended in a 0-0 draw in Dakar.
After the game, USM Alger accused the home crowd of abusing their supporters; striker Ismail Belkacemi called the incident "being in hell." However, ASC Jaraaf refuted the allegations, accusing USMA supporters of disregarding local police orders and carrying combustible items into the stadium.
CAF confirmed that its disciplinary committee is reviewing the incident and promised to take appropriate action if necessary.
Following the Tanzanian team's thrilling Confederation Cup triumph on Sunday, Tunisian media claimed that supporters of Simba SC reportedly assaulted supporters of CS Sfaxien. Concerns over fan conduct throughout the competition are becoming more prevalent as a result of these instances.
