Veron Mosengo Omba stands as a candidate for the presidency of the Congolese Football Association
The former general secretary of the Confederation of African Football is in the running to take the reins of Congolese football’s governing body.
Following much speculation, Veron Mosengo Omba has officially submitted his candidacy for the presidency of the Congolese Football Association. Like other candidates who have officially submitted their applications, Mosengo Omba aims to lead his country’s football governing body. He formalised his candidacy on Tuesday 21 April in Kinshasa.
In the race for the presidency of the Federation, Mosengo Omba will face other key figures in Congolese football. Shabani Nonda, a former Congolese striker and well-known figure in the Democratic Republic of Congo, as well as Azis Makukula, are also in the running.
