The former secretary general of the Confederation of African Football is taking the reins of Congolese football.
As the sole candidate in the running, Veron Mosengo was elected on Wednesday in Kinshasa. He received 60 out of 65 votes at the General Assembly.
Two votes against and two invalid ballots were recorded. Veron Mosengo will lead Congolese football for the next four years. He takes the helm of Congolese football as the Democratic Republic of Congo makes its return to the World Cup after 52 years. The new president of the federation is expected to further revitalise football in the DR Congo.
