Venezuela and Bolivia Face Must-Win Clash in Maturín

This Friday, Venezuela and Bolivia will meet at the Monumental Stadium in Maturín for a pivotal match in the 15th round of South American qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup. Both teams need a victory to keep their qualification hopes alive.
Venezuela, under coach Fernando 'Bocha' Batista, sits seventh with 15 points from three wins, six draws, and five losses. While outside the direct qualification spots, this position would grant them a playoff opportunity to reach the World Cup. Key players include Salomón Rondón, Yeferson Soteldo, and Jon Aramburu, along with young talents David Martínez and Alessandro Milani.
Bolivia is eighth with 14 points. Coach Óscar Villegas remains optimistic despite the absence of midfielder Ramiro Vaca, who was left out due to an alleged doping case under review.
In their previous encounter, Bolivia secured a 4-0 victory over Venezuela in La Paz. With the World Cup approaching, every point counts, and this match could be decisive for both teams' qualification aspirations.
