Refereeing in the Premier League remains a hot topic among experts, who argue that even the introduction of VAR has not significantly improved decision-making. However, the league itself sees progress.

Details: Premier League head of football Tony Scholes stated that the accuracy of key VAR decisions has increased to 96.4%, while the number of errors has dropped below 20, standing at 13.

Four of these mistakes involved incorrect VAR interventions in match incidents, while the remaining nine were cases where VAR failed to intervene when it should have. However, Scholes does not believe that announcing VAR decisions to fans inside the stadium is a good idea.

Reminder: Recently, referee Anthony Taylor has come under heavy criticism, particularly for awarding a controversial penalty to Brighton in their match against Arsenal.
