USM Alger win the CAF Confederation Cup
Crowned champions in the second leg
Facing Zamalek SC in the second leg, the Algerians prevailed on penalties.
The second leg of the final, played on Saturday 16 May, lived up to all expectations. Having won the first leg (1-0) in Algeria, USM Alger were pegged back in the second leg at the Cairo International Stadium.
Zamalek SC found the net, bringing the aggregate score to 1-1. But the nets remained untroubled until the end of normal time. The two sides had to go to a penalty shoot-out to decide the winner. In the shoot-out, USM Alger prevailed, scoring 8 penalties to Zamalek’s 7.
USM Alger are thus crowned champions of the 2025–2026 Confederation Cup.
