USM Alger join Zamalek SC in the CAF Confederation Cup final
After a chaotic match
The Algerian club secured their place in the final after knocking out Morocco’s OC Safi.
It was late into the night that USM Alger snatched qualification from Safi. This semi-final, marred by scenes of violence, ended in victory for the Algerians thanks to the away goals rule. After a first leg that ended goalless, both teams scored one goal each on Sunday in the return leg.
OC Safi and USM Alger drew 1-1 at the final whistle. However, the Algerians, who were playing away, qualified at the expense of the Moroccans, who were playing at home. USM Alger will face Zamalek SC in the final of the CAF Confederation Cup.
