The kick-off of the match was significantly delayed at the Stade El Massira for this second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup semi-final. The players had to wait more than 40 minutes before they could take to the pitch.
The cause was clashes between Algerian and Moroccan supporters, which sparked disturbances inside El Massira Stadium. The scene was marked by bloody violence. Some supporters were severely beaten. Horrific scenes that once again tarnish the image of African football.
