Barcelona appear ready to make a major move in the race for a new centre-forward.

Details: According to journalist Gerard Romero, Barcelona have made Inter striker Lautaro Martínez their No.1 transfer target and are prepared to go all-in in an attempt to bring the Argentine to Catalonia. The forward has reportedly already given the green light to a potential move to Barça.

The development represents another twist in Barcelona's search for a new striker. Lautaro had already appeared among the options being considered by the Catalan club, but Romero's information now places the Inter captain at the very top of their list.

The player's approval would remove one potential obstacle, although there is still no indication that Barcelona and Inter have reached an agreement over a transfer fee or the structure of a possible deal. Romero has also described the process as an initial exploration rather than a completed transfer.

Barcelona had also been heavily linked with Julián Álvarez, but Lautaro has now emerged as another elite Argentine option for the centre-forward position. Inter, meanwhile, continue to count on Martínez as one of the most important figures in their squad.

It's worth noting that Inter's official website continues to identify Lautaro Martínez as the Nerazzurri captain. The striker also played an important role for Argentina at the 2026 World Cup, finishing the tournament with three goals and one assist.
