Unstoppable! Ronaldo finds the net against Neftchi and closes in on the all-time record

Cristiano Ronaldo continues to rapidly close the gap to the historic milestone of 1,000 goals.

Details: The star Portuguese forward of Al-Nassr found the net once again in the elite round of the AFC Champions League against Uzbekistan's Neftchi Fargona. It was already the 981st official goal of the 41-year-old striker's professional career.

The Saudi club's captain once again kept his cool to capitalize on a chance in front of goal. The forward's precise finish allowed Al-Nassr to take firm control of the continental clash and brought the veteran even closer to a unique statistical milestone.

The Uzbek side became the 209th unique team — including clubs and national sides — to concede a goal to the five-time Ballon d'Or winner during his career.

The Portuguese star now needs just 19 more goals to reach the extraordinary milestone of 1,000, and his current form suggests he is ready to set this seemingly untouchable record.
