Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather found himself in a troubling situation while shopping in London, reports TMZ. The incident occurred in Hatton Garden, where a group of anti-Israel protesters confronted and attacked the athlete.

The hostility toward Mayweather stems from his outspoken support for Israel in the ongoing conflict with Palestine. Mayweather has even delivered aid to Tel Aviv using his private jet.

Witnesses reported that the protesters directed hateful and racist remarks at Mayweather. Some accounts suggested that he was struck with a punch, although his representatives have denied this claim.

Eventually, Mayweather and his security team managed to leave the scene without further escalation.

According to the BBC, incidents of antisemitism have surged in the UK. In London alone, approximately 2,000 such incidents were recorded in the first six months of 2024.

Floyd Mayweather, a bronze medalist at the 1996 Olympics, has held world championship titles across five weight classes during his illustrious career. His last professional fight took place on August 26, 2017.
