Hany Abo Rida has been officially named the new president of the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) for the next four years, as no other candidates applied by the deadline for the election.
The EFA started accepting nominations on November 10 and continued for seven days, ending on Saturday evening with no other lists entering the competition. Because of this, Abo Rida’s list was automatically declared the winner before the election date on December 10.
The confirmed board members include Khaled El Darandaly as vice president, along with Ahmed Helmy El-Sherif, Hamada El Shorbiny, Mostafa Abou Zahra, Tarek Abo El Einen, Mohamed Abou Hussein, Walid Abdel Gawad, and Enas Mazhar.
This win marks Abo Rida’s second term at the helm of Egyptian football, having served as president of the Egyptian Football Association between 2016 and 2019. His leadership is expected to focus on promoting the development of sports in Egypt.
