With just over a year to go until the start of the 2026 World Cup, some stadiums are still undergoing preparatory work. However, FIFA keeps compliance with all regulations under wraps.

Details: The International Builders Organization has accused the world's football governing body of blocking labor inspections at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City. During the previous four World Cups, no such issues had arisen.

The union also reported that FIFA has backed out of an agreement to conduct joint inspections in Mexico, Canada, and the USA - the three host nations of the global tournament's 48-team final next year.

Recall: Previously, FIFA also refused to oversee human rights compliance during the construction of stadiums for the World Cup in Saudi Arabia.
