Jack Grealish's future at Manchester City has taken an unexpected turn. Just a few weeks ago, the English winger's departure seemed almost inevitable, but with Enzo Maresca's appointment as head coach, the situation has changed dramatically.
According to TEAMtalk, the new boss of the Citizens intends to personally assess the 30-year-old during pre-season training and is in no rush to let him go. Maresca has already informed the club's management that he is willing to give Grealish the opportunity to fight for his place in the squad before making a final decision on his future.
For the record, last season the England international spent a loan spell at Everton, where he managed to regain his form. Before suffering a foot fracture, Grealish was one of the team's leaders, recording two goals and six assists in 18 Premier League appearances.
