Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola is being considered as the leading candidate to take over the Netherlands national team. The Royal Dutch Football Association has already held several meetings to determine the future manager of the national side.
According to El Nacional, after four rounds of negotiations—the most recent of which took place in Barcelona—the Spanish tactician has emerged as the federation’s top favorite. They believe that the Spaniard could soon part ways with Manchester City, despite his current contract running until 2027.
Current national team boss Ronald Koeman has once again decided to step down, and the KNVB board has already begun the search for a new head coach. Among the candidates considered were Erik ten Hag, Arne Slot, and Peter Bosz. It’s also reported that the Spanish coach is being linked with a possible appointment to the Germany national team, should Julian Nagelsmann leave his post.
