After a series of disappointing results, the Armenian national team has parted ways with head coach Oleksandr Petrakov, and a true football star might be set to take his place.
Details: In an interview with Fast News, Vice President of the Armenian Football Federation Armen Nikoghosyan revealed that negotiations are already underway with several candidates. One of the coaches they've approached is the legendary former Real Madrid forward Raúl González, who is currently coaching Castilla.
However, Nikoghosyan added that negotiations are challenging due to the Spaniard’s financial demands.
The Armenian Football Federation is also in contact with Michel Der Zakarian, the former head coach of Montpellier, Nantes, and Brest.
Reminder: It was previously reported that Raúl will leave Castilla at the end of the season, with Álvaro Arbeloa set to replace him.
The Armenian national team has earned only 4 points in their UEFA Nations League C group, which currently puts them in second place.
