Veteran Manchester City defender Kyle Walker is on the verge of leaving the Etihad. For the 35-year-old, an unexpected opportunity to continue his career has emerged—one that wouldn’t require him to move far from Manchester.

Details: According to The Guardian, Everton have shown interest in Walker and are in talks with Manchester City over a one-year loan deal for the defender, with a permanent signing to follow once his contract with the Citizens expires in the summer of 2026.

The player himself is keen on the move, as he doesn't want to go abroad again and prefers to stay in the Premier League. However, there are complications regarding Walker’s salary. The defender’s wage of £720,000 per month is more than Everton are willing to cover, but negotiations between the parties are ongoing.

Reminder: Earlier, it was reported that Citizens' manager Pep Guardiola allegedly suggested swapping winger Jack Grealish to Real Madrid for Rodrygo.
