Unexpected move: Xavi could take charge of AFC Champions League winners

Since leaving Barcelona at the end of last season, Xavi has not taken up a new coaching role. However, the Spaniard continues to receive enticing offers—some even from the champions of continental competitions.
Details: Saudi side Al-Ahli, led by German coach Matthias Jaissle, triumphed in the AFC Champions League. Yet, according to Foot Mercato, the club—which boasts stars like Riyad Mahrez, Ivan Toney, and Roberto Firmino—might still opt for a managerial change.
Al-Ahli's bosses from Jeddah are now considering Xavi as a replacement for Jaissle and have already approached the former Barcelona coach with an offer. However, the 45-year-old's financial demands could make the deal difficult to close.
Reminder: Despite their continental success, Al-Ahli currently sit only fifth in the Saudi Pro League. One of the team's stars, Gabri Veiga, could leave Jeddah this summer, with Newcastle reportedly interested in bringing him back to Europe.
