Unexpected move? Real Madrid considers signing the captain of Italian giants
Real Madrid has surprisingly set its sights on Juventus midfielder Manuel Locatelli. According to Sportal, citing journalist Ekrem Konur, the Italian midfielder has emerged as a candidate to bolster Madrid's midfield after the failed pursuit of Rodri.
With rumors swirling about the possible transfer of the Spanish midfielder to Barcelona, Real is now exploring alternative options. Locatelli is among the players the Madrid club is considering to strengthen their central line.
However, Juventus is under no pressure to let Locatelli go on the cheap. Last April, the midfielder extended his contract with the club until 2030. Still, the Turin side needs to replenish its budget through player sales. The club has already secured the signings of Randal Kolo Muani and Kerim Alaibegovic and now must free up funds for further squad reinforcements.
As a reminder, the 32-year-old Italian has been playing for Juve since 2021 and has already made 230 appearances for the Turin club. He is once again an essential figure for the Italian national team. His market value is estimated at 25–30 million euros.
