The parties are discussing an initial loan arrangement for the player. The agreement will also include an option for a permanent transfer.
The financial terms of the potential deal remain undisclosed. The clubs are expected to wrap up negotiations and finalize the remaining details soon.
It’s worth noting that last season João Mário made 28 appearances across all competitions: 13 for Juventus and 15 more during his loan spell at Bologna. The Portuguese defender scored twice, both goals coming while playing for the Rossoblù.
Before moving to Italy, the defender spent his entire professional career at Porto. He featured in 181 matches for his boyhood club, netting 5 goals, providing 25 assists, and winning nine trophies. In the summer of 2025, Juventus signed him until June 2030, but he has yet to establish himself in Turin.
