Unexpected! Inter go after Arsenal star!
Gabriel Martinelli has unexpectedly emerged on Inter's radar as the Italian champions consider one more move in attack.
Details: According to Corriere dello Sport, Inter are assessing whether to add another forward before the transfer window closes, with Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli now being linked with a move to Milan. The Nerazzurri are specifically looking for an attacking player with different characteristics — someone capable of bringing creativity, unpredictability and danger in one-on-one situations.
Corriere dello Sport notes that reports from Brazil have linked Martinelli with Inter. However, the Italian club already consider their squad strong both quantitatively and qualitatively, meaning a new attacking arrival would most likely have to be preceded by a departure from midfield or the forward line.
One player who will not be sacrificed is Lautaro Martinez. Despite recurring transfer rumours connecting the Argentine striker with clubs abroad, Inter regard their captain as unavailable for transfer. That leaves the club needing to explore other solutions if they decide to make room for another attacking player.
Martinelli's future at Arsenal has already been the subject of considerable speculation this summer. The Brazilian has also been linked with Napoli, Roma and Galatasaray, while Arsenal's Premier League campaign begins against Coventry on August 21. It is worth noting that Martinelli, 25, remains an Arsenal player and is under contract until June 2027. Transfermarkt's latest listed valuation for the Brazilian winger is €45 million.
Reminder: One condition. Arsenal ready to sell star winger
