Cavani could be on the verge of a high-profile homecoming as he weighs up his next move.

Details: According to Uruguayan journalist Rodri Vásquez, both Nacional and Peñarol have made inquiries about Edinson Cavani's situation and have expressed interest in signing the striker. At this stage, it's a matter of interest from the two clubs rather than a finalized agreement.

The 39-year-old Uruguayan is currently a free agent. Cavani left Boca Juniors at the end of June and has officially been without a club since July 1.

It is reported that, so far, neither Nacional nor Peñarol have reached an agreement with the striker. Cavani himself is still considering his options for continuing his career.

Throughout his illustrious career, Cavani has played for Danubio, Palermo, Napoli, PSG, Manchester United, Valencia, and Boca Juniors. His most prolific spell came at PSG, where he netted 200 goals across all competitions and clinched six Ligue 1 titles. Cavani has also made a significant impact with the Uruguay national team, earning 136 caps, scoring 58 goals, and lifting the Copa América in 2011.

Reminder: Milan is hunting for the world champion! A concrete offer for Paredes is on the table.
