Leandro Paredes could be swapping Argentina for Italy once again.

Details: According to Argentine journalist Martin Arevalo, Milan has prepared a concrete official offer for Boca Juniors midfielder Leandro Paredes. The 32-year-old 2022 World Cup champion, who played in this summer's World Cup final against Spain, only returned to his boyhood club from Roma a year ago—and now he could be heading back to Europe.

Paredes knows Serie A inside out: over his career, he spent four seasons with Roma, enjoyed a loan spell at Juventus, and is still considered one of the most experienced holding midfielders of his generation. At Boca, the Argentine immediately became captain and leader; his contract runs until December 2028, and his transfer value is a modest five million euros—an absolute bargain for Milan. The Rossoneri are actively rebuilding after missing out on the Champions League and see Paredes as a cheap, experienced reinforcement for the midfield.

In the April Superclásico against River Plate, Paredes was the first off the bus, the first to hit the warm-up, and scored—FIFA has officially named him Boca's talisman.
