Unexpected. Benfica announced the transfer of a key player of Galatasaray

Yesterday, Galatasaray finalized the sensational loan deal for Napoli's star striker Victor Osimhen. However, at the same time, the Turkish champions lost one of their key wingers, Kerem Aktürkoğlu.

Lisbon-based Benfica officially announced the signing of the 25-year-old Turkish international. The "Eagles" paid €12 million for Aktürkoğlu, who signed a five-year contract.

This season, Aktürkoğlu has already scored two goals and provided two assists in three matches in the Turkish Super Lig. Last season, he recorded 12 goals and seven assists in 37 matches.

Late last month, Benfica officially announced the dismissal of head coach Roger Schmidt. The name of his successor will be revealed soon.

Unlike Galatasaray, Benfica will be competing in this season's UEFA Champions League. Their group-stage opponents include Crvena Zvezda, Atlético Madrid, Feyenoord, Bayern Munich, Monaco, Bologna, Barcelona, and Juventus.
