(VIDEO) Osimhen flew to Turkey. How was he met by fans at the airport?

The most shocking transfer of the fall is practically complete. Napoli star Victor Osimhen arrived in Istanbul last night, where he will undergo a medical examination and sign a contract with Galatasaray.

The club's YouTube channel even broadcast a live stream of Osimhen's arrival in the Turkish capital, where he was greeted by a large crowd of Galatasaray fans at the airport. Videos have already surfaced showing Osimhen joining the fans in chanting traditional club songs.

After transfer deals with Chelsea and Al-Ahli fell through, Turkey became one of the few viable options for Osimhen, as the transfer window in the country remains open until September 13.

Due to Osimhen's open request for a transfer, Napoli no longer counted on the Nigerian striker and even excluded him from their Serie A squad.

During his four seasons at Napoli, Osimhen scored 76 goals in 133 matches across all competitions. In the 2022/23 season, in which Napoli won the Scudetto, Osimhen was the top scorer in Serie A with 26 goals.

Galatasaray failed to qualify for the Champions League this summer and will play in the main stage of the Europa League. Their group stage opponents include PAOK, RFS, Elfsborg, Tottenham, AZ Alkmaar, Malmö, Dynamo Kyiv, and Ajax.
