Ultimatum from Laporta: Barcelona set a final deadline for Álvarez transfer
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has made it clear that the Catalan club has no intention of waiting indefinitely for a decision on the transfer of Atlético striker Julián Álvarez. If the Madrid side do not change their stance, the Blaugrana's offer will expire at the end of July, according to Sport.es.
We have made an offer, and it remains valid. At some point, we will announce that its validity has expired. This will happen at the end of July, said the Barcelona president.
The Argentine forward remains one of Barcelona's top targets for the summer transfer window. The club sees Álvarez as a potential successor to Robert Lewandowski and a key figure in their future project. However, negotiations between the parties have essentially reached a deadlock. Previously, the Blaugrana management submitted an official bid for the transfer, but Madrid made it clear they are not willing to part ways with one of their team's leaders.
