Ukrainian Premier League match may be canceled after Russian troops shell Chornomorets stadium in Odesa
Odesa football has come under enemy fire.
Details: Russian forces have once again targeted Odesa’s civilian infrastructure, this time damaging the Chornomorets Arena.
Tomorrow, Chornomorets Odesa were scheduled to host Kolos Kovalivka in the second round of the Ukrainian Premier League. However, due to stadium damage and ongoing safety concerns, the match is now in serious doubt.
There has been no official statement from the UPL management or club representatives regarding a postponement, but all signs point to the game not taking place as planned.
This is far from the first act of brutality inflicted by Russian troops on Ukrainian sport. In previous seasons, Ukrainian Premier League matches were frequently interrupted by air raid sirens during Russian bombardments.
Reminder: Breaking! The Europa League match between Salzburg and Pafos was suspended. What's going on?
