Ukraine made history at the Euros, but it's certainly not something they will appreciate

Ukraine played their final group stage match of the 2024 European Championship against Belgium, which ended in a 0:0 draw.

Ukraine accumulated four points in three matches but did not advance to the playoffs. All teams in this group earned the same number of points, with goal difference deciding the standings. Ukraine became the first team in Euro history to amass four points and still be eliminated. Previously, this point total was sufficient for advancement.

To recap, Romania sensationally won the group due to a higher number of goals. Belgium finished second, and Slovakia, who also advanced to the playoffs, took third place. Ukraine exits the tournament.
