Uganda U-17 national team put in a very good performance at the Hams Stadium in Nakivubo, winning 5-0 against Kenya. The win helped them qualify for the semi-finals of the 2024 CECAFA U-17 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Striker Bogere James scored three goals in the 18th, 42nd and 51st minutes, making him the tournament’s top scorer.

Magala Isima Mulala and Wanyama Simon also scored goals in the 40th and 81st minutes, helping Uganda win by a big score.

After the game, head coach Brian Ssenyondo said he was proud of his team's effort and skills:
"The players followed the plan perfectly. Their teamwork and good finishing helped us win. Now we are focused on the semifinals and want to make it to the U-17 AFCON."

Uganda dominated from the start, with Bogere converting a penalty in the 18th minute after being fouled. Mulala doubled the lead with a precise strike in the 40th minute, and Bogere capitalized on a defensive lapse to make it 3-0 just before halftime. In the second half, Bogere completed his hat trick in the 51st minute, and Simon sealed the win in the 81st with a sublime finish.

After being ousted at this point in the last season, the Cubs will now play Somalia in the semifinals on December 24 in an attempt to exact revenge.
