Barcelona president Joan Laporta has not changed his decision. He is furious with head coach Xavi and has decided to dismiss him at the end of the season.

According to Gerard Romero, Barcelona is considering three candidates for the head coach position for next season. The primary candidate is former Bayern Munich and Germany coach Hansi Flick, who is keen to work with the Blaugrana.

If negotiations with Flick do not materialize, the second priority is Barcelona B head coach Rafa Márquez.

Laporta also favors Thomas Tuchel, but since his departure from Bayern Munich, he is reportedly in advanced talks with Manchester United.

It is worth noting that the club's management was angered by Xavi’s remarks about the club's difficult financial situation, which he claimed would prevent the team from competing for trophies next season. Joan Laporta felt betrayed by these statements and decided to part ways with Xavi.

At the end of January, after a 3-5 defeat to Villarreal, Xavi announced at a press conference that he would leave the team at the end of this season. However, following a series of positive results, the club's management convinced him to at least fulfill his contract, which expires in the summer of 2025. This was announced at a special press conference.

Today, Barcelona will play their La Liga matchday 37 fixture against Rayo Vallecano.
