The head coach of Spain's Olympic team, Santi Denia, has announced a list of 22 players who will prepare for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

Among the selected players are two Barcelona footballers who were important parts of Xavi's team last season: central defender Pau Cubarsi and midfielder Fermín López. Additionally, center-back Eric García, whose rights are owned by Barcelona but who played successfully on loan at Girona last season, is also included.

The complete list is as follows:

  • Goalkeepers: Arnau Tenas (PSG), Joan Garcia (Espanyol), Alejandro Iturbe (Atletico Madrid).
  • Defenders: Juanlu Sanchez (Sevilla), Marc Pubil (Almeria), Eric Garcia, Pau Cubarsi (both Barcelona), Jon Pacheco (Real Sociedad), Mosquera (Valencia), Miguel Gutierrez (Girona) and Miranda (Betis).
  • Midfielders: Aymar Oros (Osasuna), Benyat Turrientes (Real Sociedad), Alejandro Baena (Villarreal), Bernabe (Parma), Pablo Barrios (Atletico Madrid).
  • Forwards: Fermin Lopez (Barcelona), Sergio Gomez (Manchester City), Abel Ruiz (Braga), Samu Omorodion (Atletico), Camello (Rayo Vallecano), Diego Lopez (Valencia).

The final squad will consist of 18 players.

In the 2024 Olympics, Spain will compete in a group alongside Uzbekistan, Egypt, and the Dominican Republic.
