The head of Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority, Turki Al Al-Sheikh, has stated that he is ready to personally handle the organisation of the Terence Crawford - Saul Alvarez fight.
Crawford will face Israil Madrimov on 3 August in Los Angeles, in the main event of Riyadh's first event of the season outside of Saudi Arabia. If Crawford is successful and wins the title in the third weight class, Al Al-Sheikh will try to organise his fight with Alvarez next year.
"I will give Canelo the price I think is fair. If he accepts it, he will deal directly with me to finalise the deal. I don't want anyone in the middle. I guaranteed Crawford a big fight, I want Canelo for Crawford, and Crawford wants Canelo.
But if Canelo goes crazy [with his financial demands], I'll still guarantee Crawford any fight he wants," ESPN quoted Turki Al Al-Sheikh as saying.
Earlier, it was reported that Canelo is close to agreeing on a new bout - against Edgar Berlanga.
