The English Football Association (FA) continues its active search for a new permanent head coach to replace Gareth Southgate, and it seems that, for the first time in the national team's history, it could be a German at the helm.
Details: According to Sky Sports, the FA is in advanced talks with former Chelsea, Bayern Munich, PSG, and Borussia Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel.
The German coach, after parting ways with Bayern Munich, made it clear that he would like to return to England, and the prospect of managing the national team appeals to him.
The FA also considered Pep Guardiola, whose contract with Manchester City expires in the summer of 2025, but the Spaniard is currently not interested in the role.
Reminder: For now, Lee Carsley, who previously had success with the England U-21 team, is serving as the interim head coach. Under Carsley’s guidance, England has earned 9 points in 4 rounds of their UEFA Nations League B group.
