Treated to favorite dishes: Iga Swiatek and Carlos Alcaraz participate in the Launch of a new tradition in Indian Wells
Last year's Indian Wells tournament champions Iga Swiatek and Carlos Alcaraz became the first participants in a newly established event that is set to become a tradition. The tennis stars took part in the Champions Lunch, during which last year's Indian Wells champions are treated to signature dishes. This was reported by the BNP Paribas Open website.

The event took place at the California-style café-bistro Porta Via.
For Iga Swiatek, potato and cheese pierogies with caramelized onions, sour cream, and green onions were prepared. The Polish player noted that she enjoyed the dish and shared that her father is a master at making pierogies.
Spanish player Alcaraz, laughing, admitted that he had never heard of pierogies and had never tried them. He was treated to a more traditional Spanish dish: serrano ham and manchego bocadillo, complemented by piquillo peppers and arugula, as well as homemade potato chips.
It is worth noting that Swiatek will face Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia in the round of 32. Meanwhile, Alcaraz is still awaiting his opponent, who will either be Frenchman Quentin Halys or someone from the qualifiers.
